Usually I go about downloading movies
and songs and very soon I find that there is not much space left. I know this
happens to many of us and we seem to have no option other than buying an
external hard disk or deleting lot of old movies but trust me there is a better
way to free up memory other than deleting old movies. After all we like to keep
some of these things even when we have seen them a hundred times. It’s like
cash, the more the merrier.
CCleaner:
One of my favourite( and free tools)
is CCleaner. The reasons why you will fall in love with it are numerous. The
first time I used it it removed around 1 Gb of memory in the form of temp files,
registry files, logs, cache, unwanted files,useless memory locations
etc.
I however use it with caution when
cleaning my browsers like Chrome because I do not want my saved passwords
removed.
I love it so much that I rarely use
other cleaners and this does the job in much the same efficiency as a premium
one.
Disk Max:
Disk Max is another software
that I used to use earlier but not now anymore. It has four
options that maximise the cleaning experience: Quick, Standard, Detailed and
Complete. It also cleans logs and registry files.
Disk Cleanup:
It is an option that is given by
Microsoft itself and you will find it under ALL Programs> Accessories>
System tools> Disk Cleanup.
Another way you can clean up
memory is by using duplicate file finders like DupeGuru and Visipics that remove
duplicate image files( sometimes they delete files with similar names). Disable
Hibernation mode because everytime the computer dozes off it creates a temporary
file which saves the current session and then clogs your memory.
If you feel that you do not have
enough space even now get a new hard drive!!
