Find out how I made my first dollar on facebook
Sometime ago I started a new site on a difficult
niche and getting content for that site was a tad bit difficult. I set up a
Google alerts for the exact match keyword so that I could be notified whenever
there was a mention of that niche.
So whenever there came some new information I
could make a new post. I also got an advertiser for that site in the same
manner. So can’t help saying that Google alerts is one fine thing that can help
you save tons of time because their job is to scour the web.
Other uses are that whenever there is a mention of
your brand Google alerts can notify you of that and you can go and comment on
that post.
Anyway there are few alternatives like TalkWalker,
Mention.net that does the same job of sending alerts.
Talkwalker: Matthew Woodward
recently set up a case study where he compared both Google alerts and TalkWalker
alerts. He found that TalkWalker gave more alerts as compared to Google alerts
and most of the results made sense. And that’s the reason why it spots on the
top.
The interface is much the same as Google alerts
and for those who have been using Google alerts there would be no
problem.
Mention: Another option that
serves does a good job is Mentions. You can get upto 500 results per month and
for three keywords . If you go for the premium plan at $19.9 per month at which
you can get upto 50000 mentions and also get statistics and you can also export
the data. At $99.95 per month which is called the Team Plan you can get multiple
users on the same account and the mentions are limited to 50000.
Mention supports 42 languages and gets you results
from Twitter, facebook, blogs and forums. You can opt out of any platform if you
do not want results from that platform and you will get daily or weekly
alerts.
